Dear representatives of the member institutions of the Catholic Biblical Federation,

I send you cordial greetings from the General Secretariat of the Catholic Biblical Federation.

In a new phase of preparation for the 10th Plenary Assembly of the CBF which will be held, God willing, in April 2022 in the city of Mar del Plata in Argentina, we would like to invite you to participate in a new initiative, which aims at raising awareness of the diversity and richness of the institutions and individuals that make up our Federation, and of the activities, tasks and projects that its members carry out in various parts of the world.

In this time of pandemic we have increased our familiarity with, and the use of the the mobile phones; we have learned not only to communicate better, but also to prepare and share audiovisual materials in various electronic and digital formats. We would like to invite you to take fuller advantage of these new tools at our disposal and we propose that you… RECORD A VIDEO! or better, TWO VIDEOS!

A personal testimony – a short video, maximum one minute in length presenting and sharing on the theme “What is the CBF for me?”. You could send up to three such videos per member institution.

A longer video, up to five minutes long, presenting the institution you represent and its Bible-related activities.

These videos will be placed on the Catholic Biblical Federation’s YouTube Channel to promote the institutions that make up the Catholic Biblical Federation and the people who give life to the ministry of the Word as members of our Federation in various parts of the world.

We will also use these videos to prepare video materials in different languages to promote the Catholic Biblical Federation.

When preparing these materials, please bear in mind the following guidelines:

Personal testimony videos cannot be longer than one (1) minute. If we receive longer videos, we will edit them to the required time length. Therefore, please do not exceed the allocated time as it will save us unnecessary work and avoid interfering with the integrity of your presentation.

Video presentation of the institution and its activities cannot be longer than five (5) minutes. Again, if we receive longer videos, we will have to edit them.

Record the video with your mobile phone in a horizontal position (as you see in the banner of this campaign).
If you can, please use an external microphone for good sound quality.
The video must be recorded in one of the official languages of the CBF: English, Spanish, French, or German.
When recording personal video, use a tripod or ask someone to help you with the recording.

Once you have your recording ready, send it by email to the Secretariat of the Catholic Biblical Federation at the following address: [email protected]

The video can be sent as an attachment to the message or you can send us the link to the platform (YouTube, VIMEO, etc.) where you have placed the video.

In the body of the message send us the information about the video:
name of the author of the video
name of the person appearing in the video (in case of personal videos), the name of the CBF Member Institution to which the person belong and/or which is featured in the video (in case of institutional videos)
the country where the represented institution is located and active
brief description of the video content
The deadline for submitting videos for this campaign is Thursday 15 July 2021.

Submitting a video will be considered as granting permission for its publication.
